Utilizing BIM for Trade Coordination   Building Information Modeling ( BIM ) is a process that uses 3D models to represent a building or infrastructure project. BIM can be used to improve trade coordination by providing a single source of information for all stakeholders. This can help to identify and resolve conflicts early in the design process, which can save time and money. ➡️ What is BIM? BIM is a process that uses 3D models to represent a building or infrastructure project. BIM models can be used to represent the physical and functional aspects of a project. This information can be used to improve communication, collaboration, and decision-making throughout the project lifecycle. 🎯 Read More:- What is BIM (Building Information Modeling) & 7 Levels of BIM ➡️ How BIM can optimize trade Coordination It’s useful to look at steps of the coordination workflow from the perspective of the BIM coordinator. Civil 3D 2021 New Features | Tejjy Inc.

As remote working becomes common due to the Corona Virus pandemic, Autodesk has released Civil 3D 2021 with attributes that can align with the current working circumstances.

Let us now dig a little deep into the new features in Civil 3D 2021:

1. Pressure Pipe Layout and Edit

Users can now create and edit path-based pressure networks with the help of enhanced pressure commands.

What does this imply?

Users can define paths based on locations selected or objects/parts selected and append path-based pressure network pipe-runs. When the pipe runs are updated in the model, parts remain connected as specified but the fittings are updated according to the new part sizes.

Automated creation of bends for new pipe runs.

Automated inclusion of pipe fittings for intersecting pipes based on new part sizes.

Users can alter the pipe runs by adding or removing bends and points of intersection and fittings will be automatically updated according to the changes.

Users have the option to break and merge pipe runs.

To manage the alignment of the pipe run with the surface profile, the user will need to add a pressure network in the Profile View.

2. Enhancements in Corridor Collaboration

Civil 3D corridors facilitate the creation of corridor component roads with InfraWorks.

Following this geometry for shapes and links are created in the InfraWorks model. The Component Mapping dialog box in InfraWorks maps shapes and links to the materials.

InfraWorks tunnels and generic objects can be selected with enhanced options in the Refine Selection Set dialog box.

InfraWorks tunnels are presented in Civil 3D 2021 as mesh objects.

Civil 3D 2021 includes property data set for InfraWorks tunnels and generic objects.

3. Bridge Overflow Enhancements

The bridge designer can append bridges in the InfraWorks model by importing the corridor designed by the roadway designer in Civil 3D. The bridge in the InfraWorks model is published to an IMX dataset to facilitate the road designer to bring it to Civil 3D.

Bridge objects are now included in the drawing when the InfraWorks dataset is opened in Civil 3D.

The Configure InfraWorks- Civil 3D Exchange setting dialog box helps the user control the appearance of bridges in the plan view in the Bridges to Civil 3D layer settings.

General arrangements for sheets can be created by protecting bridges to Profile View.

Bridge protection styles enable controlling the appearance of bridges in Profile View.

Any modifications in the bridge dataset in InfraWorks will generate a message in Civil 3D and the user can reload the modified dataset in the drawing.

4. Publish to ArcGIS Updates

The object properties are now available as ArcGIS attribute data when the Publish to ArcGIS and Export to FGDB commands are given.

Besides these enhancements, there are features such as the integration of Dynamo for Autodesk Civil 3D into Installation of Civil 3D; the addition of Support for Oregon Coordinate Reference System (OCRS).

We at Tejjy Inc. believe in offering the best outcomes to our clients by leveraging the latest updates in Civil 3D 2021 by Autodesk.
