How BIM can optimize trade coordination for your project needs?

Every year in April Revit releases a new version with enhanced features. However, this year the skeptics were doubtful whether Revit would go ahead with the launch amid the COVID-19 pandemic. But, it is heartening to note that despite the circumstances, Revit has kept up its schedule and released the update this April.

While Revit 2021 has several innovative features to enhance workflows for construction professionals, in this blog we will focus on the features relevant for architectural purposes.
Let us look at what Revit 2021 has in store for architects:
Slanted Walls
The much-awaited feature is now available for architects to offer innovative design options. Architects can now slant walls without using a mass element as a host with the help of the Cross-Section parameter. The wall angle can be set with the help of the Vertical parameter. The slant angle can vary between -90 to +90 degrees with 0 degrees denoting vertical.
It is now possible to define a wall to
a slope at various angles and automatically join with adjacent walls. Slanted
walls can host wall sweeps and windows that may be aligned with the wall or
vertically.
Realistic Views
The Realistic view rendering in Revit
2021 is much better than its previous versions. It enables architects to not
only edit the model in a realistic view but also present your model with a
fly-through. This implies that users can now change materials and view the
impact of change immediately.
Path of Travel
This feature was introduced in the Revit 2020 update.
However, the 2021 version has new enhancements for architects:
• Grips can be used to modify the start and endpoints of a path of travel.
• The obstacles in the Route Analysis can be viewed with the help of the Visibility Mode.
• The Properties Palette displays the To Room and From Room parameters that can be used in schedules.
• Architects can have direct control over the path because Revit 2021 offers the flexibility to add and remove Waypoints along the travel line.
Generative Design
The generative design feature of Revit 2021 enables you to create multiple design options through the workflow.
This tool automatically generates several rapid-fire iterations when you specify your design goals, constraints, and inputs.
There are three possibilities for generative design:
•
Maximize
Window Views
•
Three
Box Massing
•
Workspace
Layout
Analysis Tools
The analysis tool Insight-Lighting Analysis for Revit, which could earlier be found only on insight.autodesk.com, can now be accessed easily with the Autodesk Desktop App.
Enhanced BIM Navigation
With enhanced cloud integration, Revit 2021 enables you to access the BIM 360 page directly in Cloud for Revit.
Although under the current circumstances, it may not exactly be possible to apply these features on the construction site, it is the right time to test these attributes for your application, so that you can familiarize yourself with them.
We at Tejjy Inc. offer our clients the best design options by leveraging the latest updates from Revit.
